CV - the technical X-ray report of a person

I need a very good .net developer and a PHP developer for my company. As a result, I just simply put the requirement on my website http://www.attensasoftware.com and then found lots of CV in my account.

I just went through the CV and found:

(1) Most of the CV were copied either from Jobs Portal or from the CV of friends. Might have googled also.

(2) Most of the CV were excellent by english language (by reading blah.. blah.. of career objectives), but when I met candidate, he/she was "ZERO" (in fact minus) in english. Please note down, that in CV they have claimed to work with "International" clients.

(3) 2 things were common in CV as "skill" and those are C, C++ (!!!!!!!). Are these considered as skills nowadays???

(4) The projects which were made by him/her were not at all ONLINE. They were fake projects or the sites have removed. Couple of candidates even not have seen their project at all. When I opened the website and shown him/her that what part of this project is done by you, they gave the answer "Sir, project report typed and printed by me...!!!"

(5) If you ask anything about the subject he/she has written in CV, the answer was common "Sir, it was there in syllabus but right now I am not recollecting it..."

(6) The hobby is written as "Cricket" however he even don't know that from which Ranjee Team - Cheteshwar Pujara has come.

(7) The hobby is written as "Internet Surfing". So what all he/she knows about internet surfing?? - FACEBOOK....!!!

I really got frustrated taking interview of approx 25-30 candidates nowadays, and found all of them as they are sheeps who even don't know where he/she has to go. He is just following because his successor goes on that direction.

Rs. 50,000 per semester. Total 6-8 semester. It means overall approx Rs. 5,00,000 expense. When they came out, they even are not deserving the salary of Rs. 5000. Better to start a business with Rs. 3,00,000 and get the turn-over of Just Rs. 50,000 per year will (1) Recover all the money in 5-6 years (2) Get 5 years experience as businessman

But no..... as world says "IT is in top now..." so come what may... "My son/my daughter must go in IT".

The same way colleges and educational institutes behave. Once they get money from student, their only target is just to "PASS OUT" the student, whether he/she he is qualified or not.

If this will go on, I don't think that INDIA will be a leading country in IT in next coming years.

Guys, who are in IT Field, please read this and decide where we stand being employee or being employer...

  1. Very True.. ;)a ton of headche when you are recruiting people.. Actully the company need first HR Round Compulsory... If they will found good communication in written/verbal then and then only we should have to move ahead for technical round..

    1. Exxxactly... this is what I am thinking now... Planning the same... Let the candidate clear aptitude and general test first... If he/she is innovative and having common sense (and not the machine) then can sit in front of the interviewers....

  2. Very right Jigar Bhai...... Indians have always been exam-centric; whereas they need to be knowledge-centric...... :-(

The other fields are not better either....... We lack originality on several grounds..... In IT, India is churning out mere technical clerks..... and parents feel proud to state that their wards are into IT....... A sorry state of affairs indeed :-(
